Be Secure In an Unsure World

David Scott is a “secure survivor” who has personally survived many natural and man-made disasters and emergencies and helps others be prepared to do the same. His goal is to help ordinary people become “secure survivors” in any disaster or emergency.

David’s experience with natural and man-made emergencies and disasters stretches back more than 35 years to the early 1970’s when David, a son of U.S. expatriates, was growing up in Asia on the Philippine Islands. In 1970, shortly after moving to the Philippines, David’s family experienced firsthand the need to be prepared when they suffered through the ravages of Super-Typhoon Yoling. With its sustained winds of 130 MPH, this was one of the strongest and deadliest storms on record.

Lessons learned here were never forgotten.

For two weeks after the eye of the storm passed directly over their neighborhood, David’s family lived without electricity, running water, or access to a grocery store. This caused great hardship. As a result, they determined never to be caught unprepared again and made emergency preparedness a family focus.

Since then David has lived through various disasters and emergencies in the United States, Mexico, and the Philippines including: additional typhoons, floods, earthquakes, blizzards, severe storms, blackouts, a chemical plant explosion, a volcanic eruption and foreign political violence including riots, shootings, kidnappings, terrorist bombings and the imposition of martial law. In these subsequent events, David and his family were prepared with basic supplies to sustain themselves for several days or longer.

In 2005 David founded LifeSecure Emergency Solutions (www.LifeSecure.com). LifeSecure is dedicated to helping people prepare for and effectively respond to natural or man-made emergencies and disasters at home, at work, at school, and on-the-go. The company specializes in providing emergency preparedness kits and supplies that meet U.S. Government All-Hazards Preparedness guidelines and recommendations from leading disaster-response organizations.

Its products are easy to use in an emergency and designed to be tough enough for use in difficult circumstances.

David personally develops many of the unique and innovative emergency products offered by LifeSecure. In addition to his LifeSecure efforts, David trains community members in emergency preparedness, helps non-profit organizations prepare emergency kits for needy individuals, conducts emergency response exercises, and is a member of his local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). David makes an ongoing study of how best to prepare for and respond to various natural and man-made disasters.
